The Abyssinian is a breed of domesticated cat with a distinctive ticked coat. There are many stories about its origins, often revolving around Ethiopia, but the actual origins are uncertain. The Abyssinian has become one of the most popular breeds of shorthair cat in the USA.  They are extroverted, extremely active, playful, willful and intelligent. They are usually not "lap cats", being too preoccupied with exploring and playing. They are popular among breeders and owners, and can be very successful show cats.

The Persian is a longhaired cat characterized by its round face and shortened muzzle. Its name refers to Persia, the former name of Iran, where similar cats are found.  The placid and unpretentious nature of the Persian confers a propensity for apartment living. It has been the most popular breed in the United States for many years but its popularity has seen a decline in Britain and France.  Its name refers to Persia, the former name of Iran, where similar cats are found. Recognized by the cat fancy since the late 19th century, it was developed first by the English, and then mainly by American breeders after the Second World War. In Britain, it is called the Longhair or Persian Longhair.

Somali

Somali cats are known for their intelligence and their curious nature. They are quite active and they love to play. Somali cats love to be around people, they are very loyal animals. Somalis have a ruddy ticked coat and a bushy tail, however they shed very little excess hair so only need to be groomed about once a week. They shed twice each year and will require more frequent grooming at these times. Somali cats are closely related to Abyssinian cats.
